#5. 설산수도상(雪山修道相)

 

진정한 깨달음을 얻기 위해 춥고 외로운 곳에서 수행을 하시는 부처님.

춥고 외롭고 삭막하고 버려진 공간에 앉아서, 고통받고 번뇌하는 중생들을 위해 고민하고 또 고민하는 마음으로 수행을 하시는 부처님의 모습을 현대적으로 재해석하여 한 때는 화려했지만 버려진 것들이 쌓여있는 곳, 바로 폐차장으로 그 무대를 옮겨보았습니다.

 

#5. Asceticism

Buddha focused on meditation to attain enlightenment in a cold and lonely place. 

As I reinterpreted the scene of Buddha, sitting in a cold, dreary and lonely place and always praying for the people suffering and worrying, I replaced the place from the snowy mountain to the car junkyard which is the place where once was splendid but now abandoned.
